L-o-n-g ago, I read an English fairy tale in which children were advised not to run “against the sun” (widdershins) around a certain church, otherwise they’d be snatched away and taken to some deep dark place. Guess what? Yep, one contrary kid did. I can’t remember how he/she was rescued but it did all end happily ever after, as fairy tales always do.
