There really is a name for everything. And here I was thinking “halfpace” described a gait. In retrospect, maybe it does. You have to change your pace a little as you round the “halfpace” to mount the remainder of the stairs.

When I found the word, I was not expecting the meaning it gave me. I still think it’s a great word to add to the writing vault.
