Maple Syrup Day

Maple syrup is a staple in our home when it comes to food preparation. It is great on its own drizzled over Dough Gobs (aka Fried Bread Dough). Our Maple Mustard Dressing is used on salads and as a glaze on baked salmon and chicken.

In celebration of Maple Syrup Day, I am sharing one of our favourite versatile maple syrup recipes.

Maple Mustard Dressing

1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp Olive Oil

2 Tbsp Maple Syrup

2 Tbsp Balsamic Vinegar

1 Tbsp Dijon Mustard

2 Tbsp Whole Grain Mustard

1 Clove Garlic – Diced

1 tsp Fine Sea Salt

1 tsp Black Pepper

Process all ingredients in a blender until smooth.

Cool in refrigerator before using.

Use as a glaze on salmon or chicken.

Store in a sealed jar for approximately 1 week in the refrigerator.

Do you have a favourite maple syrup recipe?

  2. Nice. I just stocked up on some maple syrup that was on sale at one of our discount stores. I often add honey for a glaze to soy sauce for salmon. I think maple mustard would work well too.

Best of the winter holidays to you and yours. And a Happy and Healthy New Year.
