Prompt: 

Tell a story that embodies your family’s history in some way. This can be a place, a person or a group of people, an event.

POV: 

Write from the perspective of someone living in the era the story comes from. A grandparent, aunt, cousin, you. 

Is the story told by them? Is it something told to you that you are repeating?

Genre: 

Historical Memoir

What is a historical memoir? Blends personal lived experience with the broader context of significant eras or events.

Word Count: 

Prose – Minimum 300 words

Poetry – Minimum 100 words
